Historically Bhomti women have gathered to decorate clothing in their signature style of embroidery. It features bright colours and imagery of daily life. Each stitch is done by hand and embodies the culture of this unique mountain region.
Each bag has the same imagery and colours, but the artisan were free to interpret the design within these constraints. The name of the artisan who made the bag is embroidered on the back-part of a longstanding tradition for the women who work on the piece to include their name in the design.
